FLORENCE SCHWARTZ (nee TYDERKIE) Peacefully, in the afternoon of May 23, 2006, Florence Schwartz, age 85 years, passed away at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Florence is survived by her son Donald and wife Karen of Calgary and granddaughter Sydney of Honolulu; by her daughter Barbara and husband Jerry and granddaughter Kelsey of Winnipeg; by her brother Edward and Shirley Tyderkie; and by many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Florence was born in Winnipeg, on April 30, 1921. She resided on Tweed Avenue until her marriage to Walter Schwartz in 1946. Mom took great pride in keeping a very organized home. She was an accomplished cook, knitter and seamstress. She will always be remembered for her generous hospitality. She greatly enjoyed camping with her family, and spent many summer vacations at West Hawk Lake and camper-travelling. Florence and Wally became charter members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and later became active members at Grace Lutheran Church. Florence enjoyed 30 years as a choir member and later attended the Grace Seniors group. Florence was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Her visits to Calgary were always most welcome. We will very fondly remember her for her forthrightness and good humour, her love of singing - and for the secret ingredients of kindness and love ever-present in her wonderful baking! Florence was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1989, by her grandson Scott Weshnoweski, and by her beloved sisters, Duneda McLeod and Lily Taubensee. The family wishes to thank Florence's neighbours Cam Neirinck and Florence Koubek, and her long-time friends Eleanor Conn and Elsie Frank for their many kindnesses to Florence. Thanks also to her home care workers and also the staff of unit B2, Middlechurch Home. Although she was there only two months, she felt comfortable and was happy at Middlechurch. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 29 at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Ave. Donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or Grace Lutheran Church.
