Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALINA LENORA GRACE HOADLEY (nee MANWEILER) With great sadness the family announces that Valina has passed into the arms of our Lord. Valina, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and good friend passed away suddenly in the early morning of May 20, 2006. Valina was predeceased by her father Henry, and sister Joanne. She leaves to mourn her husband Paul; her two children, Kris (Jay), and Bruce; her three grandchildren Emily, Grace, and William; her mother Alvina; sister Geraldine, brother John (Denise), brother-in-law Russell (Diane), as well as countless family members and good friends, especially Paul and Lynn. Valina was born in Yorkton, SK on February 14, 1947. She grew up in Winnipeg's North End, and moved into her home in East Kildonan. Following graduation, she took a position with the City of Winnipeg, where she met and married her beloved Paul. Following the birth of her first child Kris Heather, Valina tried her hand at selling Tupperware, however she was entirely too generous, giving away most of the profit. She began a career as dietary aide at Health Sciences Centre, forming many friendships. Filled with a strong faith, Valina played an important role in her church, Peace Lutheran. She was involved for many years as a member and President of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Valina was renowned for her marvelous sense of humour and her penchant for practical jokes. She livened up the many conventions that she attended and arranged. Valina lived life to the fullest, despite her many illnesses. She entertained with a passion, friends and family. Valina and fancy sandwiches were synonymous. She was a true crafter, enjoying hours of designing and building the many gifts she gave. As a grandmother, Valina adored her grandchildren and spent many hours caring for them. They will dearly miss their RA RA . A celebration of Valina's life will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 350 Gilmore Ave. at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 29. Pastor Brad Schollenberg, friend and pastor, will celebrate her life. Committal will follow the reception at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. If friends so wish, donations can be made in Valina's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or to Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 350 Gilmore Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2G 2B7.
