LARRY ANDERSON January 3, 1942 - May 24, 2006 It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of our father Larry Anderson (64 years). Dad passed away peacefully at home after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Surrounded by his children, his niece and his closest friend, he passed away in his favourite chair at home as he had wished. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Dolly; sons Richard (Marzena), Bruce (Theresa); daughter Jill; sister Sandy; nieces Michelle and Katrina; granddaughters Maya and Mariah; leftovers Rod Doell and Jackie Morin and numerous friends and relatives. As all who knew him will attest, Larry was warm hearted and strong willed. A brilliant man, Larry's passion in life was solving problems. From his daily crossword to his occupation as a self-employed carpenter/ contractor to helping his friends and family deal with all of the issues that life brings, Larry always had the answers. He was self-motivated, loved a challenge and was always just a phone call away. He loved to golf and spent a great deal of time on the golf course, perfecting his game. Following in the footsteps of his father, Larry was an amazing cook and loved to feed his friends and family. Everyone was always welcome at his table and in his home. Larry spent many happy summers at his cabin in Trout Lake, sailing, fishing, barbecuing, playing horseshoes and cards. Larry was fortunate enough to spend his last weekend with his family at the lake taking his brand-new boat on her maiden fishing voyage. A complex man who did not like a fuss, Larry wished that a formal funeral service not be held. At his request, his children will spread his ashes around his property at Trout Lake. In addition, a gathering for close friends and family will be held at his residence Saturday May 27, at 1:00 p.m. The family is indebted to Dr. Harris; for whom our father had great admiration and respect. He spoke of her incredible devotion at every opportunity. In addition, we would like to thank all those at the Grace Hospital who provided our father with the high level of care that he was so impressed by. If so desired, donations in Larry's memory may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, telephone (204) 837-0375. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
