BRUCE DARYL BATCHELOR My husband Bruce was born December 26, 1949 and died suddenly and peacefully on May 17, 2006. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by me, Allyson; his parents, Larry and Ruby Batchelor; sister Donna (Greg), niece Melanie and son Matthew; nephews, Kevin (fiance Nicole) and Scott; niece Heather (Greg) and daughter Lauren; brother Barrie (Sharon), nieces, Carlee (Jeff) and Tishree (Jason) and sons, Dustin and Keaton; sister-in-law Lesley (Eric); nephew Scott (Leanne); niece Leanne and son Nathan; brother-in-law Duane (Lisa); nephew Brett; niece Lara; longtime friends, Jacquie and Martin; Terry and Ursula; and numerous friends. Bruce was born and raised in Winnipeg, and attended West St. Paul School and Garden City Collegiate. He began his career at age 16 while still in school, working part-time for his friend Barrie Chester. After completing school Bruce worked in sales until he was hired on at CPR in 1972 and worked there until his retirement in 2000. Bruce enjoyed being retired because it gave him the opportunity to do all the things he loved to do. He cherished his dog, Bearington, who was his constant companion, especially for Sunday NFL. Bruce was an advocate for community businesses and formed friendships with local shop owners; he was forever promoting their businesses. He had a unique sense of humour and an extremely sharp wit, which he exercised often. One of his greatest pleasures was making people laugh. Bruce loved our place and worked hard to make it a home. He took much joy in nature and wildlife, our drives to Lockport with Bearington, and evenings spent on the deck with family and friends. He is missed greatly by all who know and love him.
