OLE HAKAN RAINDAHL It is with deep sorrow and sadness, the family of Ole announces his passing on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Deer Lodge Centre, in Winnipeg, at the age of 87 years. Remaining to cherish Ole's memory are his sons, Dennis of Mississauga, ON and Brian (Wendy) of Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren, Alyssa and Jennifer; sister-in-law Sarah Raindahl of Saskatoon, SK and sister-in-law Shirley Shearing (Jim) of Fort Erie, ON; and their daughters and families; and by daughter-in-law, Andrée Boudreau of Comox, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (April 2006); son Gary (1979); sisters Rose and Bertha; and by his brothers Henry, Albert, Alfred, Chester, Martin, and Syvert. Ole was born in Viceroy, SK on June 8, 1918 to Henry (Haie) and Bertha (Bergit) Raindahl who had immigrated from Norway (originally to North Dakota, and then to Saskatchewan). He grew up on the family farm before enlisting in the RCAF as a Navigator during the Second World War. On August 25, 1946 in Lachine, QC, Ole married Dorothy who was serving there in the RCAF (WD). He re-enlisted in the air force after the war as an aero-engine mechanic. They travelled from Trenton, ON, to Greenwood, NS, to Halifax, NS, to Gimli, MB, to Zwiebrucken, Germany, and returned to Trenton, ON where he retired. Ole and Dot later retired to the warmer climate of Chilliwack, BC. A private burial and celebration of his life will take place in the future in BC. The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care provided at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg and McIntosh Lodge (Cascade Manor) in Chilliwack; and family friends in Chilliwack who helped and visited Ole in Chilliwack prior to his move to Winnipeg. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Ole's memory to a charity of your choice. Ole's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
