Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENE LEON DEGRAVE August 26, 1926 May 25, 2006 Rene DeGrave, beloved husband of Pat, passed away in Calgary on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the age of 79 years. Rene was born in Winnipeg and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1944 to 1970. After his retirement he and Pat settled back in Winnipeg where Rene worked for and was heavily involved with the Holy Cross Church. Once permanent retirement came, he and Pat spent many years as snow birds in Palm Springs, California which they considered their second home. Rene and Pat relocated to Calgary in 2003 to be close to their daughters and their families. Rene will be remembered as a quiet, loving man who always put family first. He loved golfing, football, curling, doing crosswords, playing cards and reading. Besides his loving wife Pat, he leaves behind his daughters, Louise-Marie Eagar (Bruce) and Marina Nagribianko (Don); his granddaughter Lori Piercy (Rich) and great-grandson Michael; and his sister Laura DeGrave of Vancouver. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 541 Silver Grove Drive NW, Calgary, AB on Tuesday, May 30, at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #200, 119 14th Street NW, Calgary, AB.
