Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALDA MURIEL BORESKIE Donalda Muriel Boreskie (née McCarthy) died May 25, 2006, at the Altona Hospital following a lengthy illness. Donalda is survived by her husband Joseph; her children, Michael, Mark (Sue), Mary and Tom; and her grand-children, Patrick and Kevin. She was pre-deceased by her father Donald, mother Muriel, brother Desmond and sister Patricia. She was born in Wilkie, SK, on August 30, 1922, and spent her early years in Gravelbourg, SK, and Melfort, SK. During the 1940s, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan and a Diploma in Social Work from the University of Manitoba. In 1947, she became Executive Director of the Saskatoon Family Bureau. She married in 1949 and moved to Gretna, MB, where she raised her family and assisted her husband with his medical practice. Funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, corner of Corydon Avenue and Stafford Street in Winnipeg, on Tuesday, May 30, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Winnipeg; a reception will follow at the church immediately following mass. A reception will also be held in Gretna at a future date, upon completion of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missionary Sisters of Charity, 185 Dunn Avenue, Toronto, M6K 2S1 or to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.
