Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK NICHOLAUS WIENS 1925 - 2006 Frank Nicholaus Wiens passed away May 26, 2006 at the age of 81 years. He was born March 16, 1925 in Westbourne, MB to John H. and Margaret Wiens. He is survived by his wife Margaret (nee Sawatzky), son Frank (Rhonda), daughter Hildegard, son Willie and daughter Margaret, sisters, Margaret Froese, Elizabeth McDonald, Mary Heese; brother-in-law Willie Heese; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Erna and Jake Wiebe; sisters-in-law, Mary Remple, Elizabeth Reimer, Mary Sawatzky and brother-in-law Willie Sawatzky. He was predeceased by his brother Johnnie, sister-in-law Elsie Wiens, brothers-in-law, Ronald McDonald, Aaron Reimer and Peter Remple. Frank was born in Westbourne, MB. Shortly thereafter the family settled in Gnadenfeld where they started a dairy farm. Right next door, he met the love of his life, Margaret and they were married in Grunthal on June 22, 1947. They lived in Winnipeg in North Kildonan until 1957. They then traded their Winnipeg home for a farm in Gnadenfeld. Here they raised their four children and enjoyed the lives of dairy farming. After retiring from milking cows, Frank still enjoyed driving the tractor and helping out with the fieldwork as much as possible until about four years ago. He moved into the Menno Home on June 28, 2004 where his wife was always found at his side. He was a school trustee in Grunthal, a deacon at the Elim Mennonite Church and a strong member in the Grunthal community. He enjoyed and treasured his many friendships he made over the years. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Grunthal Menno Home for their compassionate care for the past 2 years. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2:00 p.m. at the Elim Mennonite Church in Grunthal.
