Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATE ANDERSON (nee PRUDEN) December 1, 1917 - May 26, 2006 After a brief illness, Katie peacefully passed away at Concordia Hospital. She is survived by her daughter Caroline Scollan (James); grandsons, James Jr. (Maria) and David; stepgreat-granddaughter Stephanie; sisters, Gracie Znak, Sarah Pruden, Lena Pruden and Stella Strick. Also, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Katie was exceptionally close to her niece Ruth Caldwell (Mervyn) and their family. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew in 1977; Angela, her great-granddaughter in 2006; and her brothers, Alex, Alfred, Andrew, Walter; and sister Patricia Stewart. Katie was born and raised in Libau, MB. After her marriage to Andrew, they moved to Winnipeg where she lived until her passing. She was very involved in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 215. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for several terms, culminating in receiving a lifetime membership. Katie enjoyed bowling and over the years won many trophies. In her later years, she was active in senior activities and loved playing cards. Many thanks to Dr. Darcy Johnson for his compassionate care over the years. The family extends their appreciation to Concordia Hospital staff. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home on May 31 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ted Nimik officiating. A private committal service will be held prior to the service, in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
