Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT JOSEPH (PIT) DESJARDINS January 1924 - May 28, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving brother on Sunday, May 28, 2006, at the age of 82. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Gladys; one sister Ella Kendall; and brothers-in-law, Adolph Kendall and George Blair. He leaves to mourn his sisters, Annette (Ulysse) Hamelin of St Francois Xavier, MB, Doris Blair of Winnipeg; and one brother Norman in the Portage General Hospital; his nephews, Blake (Diane) Kendall and Jeffrey (Linda) Blair all of Winnipeg as well as great-nephews and nieces and many cousins. One Aunt Lorene Cotton of Winnipeg. Albert was born on the family farm in Baie St Paul, where he resided until his death. He took over the running of the farm at the very young age of 17, learned as he went along and managed over the years to become an excellent farmer. There were good years and bad years, good days and bad days, He was always optimistic and his familiar saying was to-morrow will be a better day . He sold the farm in 1993 at which time he retired. However the love for the land was in him and he still had an avid interest in farming and would check the neighbours crops almost everyday. He enjoyed the outdoors and his evening walks around the property. The Sunday dinners with all the family around him gave him great joy. Albert had many friends and everyone was always greeted with a friendly smile and a joke and when they prepared to leave he would say are you leaving already whether they had been there for 15 minutes or four hours. He was a man of great faith, he looked forward to Sunday Mass and his coffee with friends afterward. He will be sadly missed. A viewing will take place for family and friends who wish to attend on Wednesday evening, May 31 between 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed John XIII Roman Catholic Church, (Assiniboia Christian Centre), 3390 Portage Ave. on Friday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. Msgr.
