Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK CHARLES RYMAN It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the age of 88 years on May 29, 2006 at Concordia Place Personal Care Home. Fred was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Jean; granddaughter Sharon Dawn and all his siblings. He is survived by his children, Dolly (Chris) Jensen, Fred Tony (Heather), Carol (Albert) Munn; grandchildren, Scott, Doug, Mike, Jennie, Sheryl, Jon, Carrie; great-granddaughter Athena; special nephew Lloyd (Sharon) and his special four-legged family Kobe and Ben. Fred was born in 1917 in Barnstable, England. In 1939 he volunteered with the Winnipeg Grenadiers and was shipped to Hong Kong in 1941. He was captured and held as a prisoner of war in that same year and released in 1946. Upon his return to Winnipeg, he married Jean and together they raised their family in Hodgson, MB. During this time he owned and operated his own store, restaurant and butcher shop. In 1958 the family moved to Winnipeg, where they settled in East/North Kildonan. He was employed at Dominion Stores as a Meat Manager until his retirement. Fred liked a variety of things including small engine repairs, gardening and particularly, time with his family. A special thank you to Dr. Ken Kasper for his extensive efforts over the years in maintaining Dad's health. A further thank you to his Home Care staff, who looked after father for a number of years, the staff of Misericordia Care Home and Concordia Place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Rev. Richard Condo officiating.
