CATHERINE (CATHIE) MARGARET IRVING (nee WOODS) It is with sorrow and sadness we announce the sudden passing of Catherine Irving on April 3, 2006 at the Saanichton Peninsula Hospital. Cathie will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband of 56 years, Dave Ray Irving; daughter Barbara Clare Grisdale (Jim); her sons, Cameron Grant Irving (Gisela Rempel), Bailey David Irving, Christopher Irving and her grandsons, Andrew Irving and Andres Land and extended family including sister-in-law Merle Woods, and nieces and nephews. Her father Claire Woods, mother Leona and brother Bruce predeceased her. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Cathie lived her last 20 years on Vancouver Island and in Ocean Park in Surrey. She endeared herself to everyone she met with her quick wit and kind heart. Cathie was a devoted wife and mother, a steadfast cat lover, an ardent reader and talented writer, and lover of music and nature. She faced adversity with strength and courage. Cathie's last wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes spread by the ocean. According to Cathie's wishes no service will be held.
