HILDAGARDA KARL March 28, 1928 June 1, 2006 On a bright and beautiful Thursday afternoon surrounded by loved ones, Mom left this world to go to her final resting place where she would find peace and tranquility. She is now reunited with her beloved husband John, her parents, Helen and Edward Knopf, and her sister Elaine Trask. Leaving to cherish Mom's memory are her children, Raymond, Maryann (Paul), and Nona (Allan); her grandchildren, Jerry (Lois), Rob (Tamara), Cameron, Heather (Ken), Murray, Aaron, and Nicholas; also her great-grandchildren, Barrett and Bradly; her step-great-grandchildren, Brendan, Brooke and Annastazia; her sisters, Wanda and Lillian; her brothers, Ewald (Delores), Art (Violet), Edmond (Glenys) and Albert (Sandra). Mom was born in Poland, and in May of 1930, made the long, arduous journey by boat to Canada. She was just 2 years of age at the time. They settled in Seven Sisters Falls, MB. Here many years later she met the love of her life John Karl. They were married in December of 1945. Together, they worked very hard, and raised their family. Mom always had beautiful and bountiful gardens. She was proud of them and also the beautiful flowers she grew. She worked selflessly and tirelessly to maintain her home, her yard, and her family. Life wasn't easy, but Mom always made the best of things and always gave of herself, and whatever she had, even when she had little to give. We, her children would like to express heartfelt gratitude to East Gate Lodge, and Dr. Van Rensberg for their caring and compassion. View will take place for those who so wish on Monday, June 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel Beausejour, MB. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, River Hills, MB, with Pastor George Johnson officiating. And the Lord said, When you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.' And He said also, Come to me and I will give you rest.' Rest now Mom, for no one deserves it more.
