MATHILDE WUTZKE Peacefully on May 31, 2006, Mathilde Wutzke (nee Batke) passed away at Calvary Place, Winnipeg. She was born on April 12, 1908 in Poland. Mathilde married Reinhardt Wutzke, son of Ferdinand and Karoline Wutzke, on April 18, 1929 with Rev. Martin Jeske officiating. On August 20, 1948 they immigrated to Canada and lived their first year and a half in Minitonas, MB. On June 6, 1950, just after the great flood, they moved to Winnipeg where Reinhardt began work repairing flood-damaged homes. On April 22, 1951 Mathilde was baptized by Rev. Zinser at Mission Baptist Church and became an active member in the church. As a child, Mathilde loved to sing. Mathilde was predeceased by her parents and her husband Reinhardt (1989). She will be greatly missed by her sister Martha Henkelmann in Germany; her daughter Ruth in Winnipeg; her sons, Asaph (Linda) in Ontario, Arvit in Winnipeg; four grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Baptist Church, 771 Sargent Ave. with interment in Brookside Cemetery. Viewing at the church prior to the service.
