EDITH MARY VERITY Peacefully, on Friday, June 2, 2006 Edith Mary Verity, aged 92, passed away. Mary was predeceased by her husband Daniel Charles and her daughter Susan Darlene Galbraith. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Fred and Bryan (Val) and son-in-law Bruce (Christina) Galbraith; grandchildren, Chris, Pat (Cheryl) and Brian (Nicole) Galbraith; Shane (Chelsea) and Shawn (Becky) Verity; and great-grandchildren, Kira, Ethan and Levi. Mary was born in Derby, England in 1914 and immigrated to Canada in 1915. Mary and Charlie were married in 1940 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Mary actively participated in Charlie's business ventures including Academy Refrigeration and subsequently DC Refrigeration. After an introduction to Hawaii in 1974, they enjoyed an annual pilgrimage for many years. They also enjoyed their trips to England. Mary loved the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and did not hesitate to offer to babysit at any time. She loved to watch the grandchildren in sports and accompanied the Galbraith grandsons to the Junior World Curling Championships in Scotland. Mary was active in the Women's Auxiliary at the St. Patrick's Anglican Church and particularly enjoyed the annual rummage sale. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow.
