Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPIA ROBERTS (nee WEEKE) Pia Roberts (nee Weeke) passed away peacefully on May 26, 2006, surrounded by love from her sister Kirsten and her children, Audrey, Kim, Neil, Karin and Clark. Pia will be so missed by her grandchildren, Blaine, Brent, Chantelle, Bonnie, Michelle, Lucas, Roseanna, Lucas, Olivia and Scott; and great-grandchild Hannah. Pia was born in 1925 in Lyngby, Denmark and traveled to Manitoba in 1951, following a three week whirlwind courtship and marriage to Stan Roberts. Prior to coming to Canada, Pia had never spent any time on a farm but she plunged right into farm life (and politics) with Stan. Stan and Pia moved to their beloved home at Deer Lake in Burnaby in 1971 and Pia worked as a social worker for many years for the City of Burnaby. Stan and Pia also lived in Calgary and Montreal, while maintaining a home on Saltspring Island, giving Pia a taste of life across this country. When Stan died in 1990, Pia moved to Mission and then to New Westminster where she pursued her passion for crib. A celebration of Pia's life was held at her home in New Westminster on Sunday, May 28.
