ROSETTA (ROSE) M. HILL (nee SAUNDERS) Peacefully on June 2, 2006 at the Pembina Manitou Health Centre with family by her side. Rose was born on January 9, 1908 in England. The family came to Canadain 1914 and settled in Winnipeg and later moved to East Braintree, Manitoba. Later while homesteading in Badger, Manitoba she met and married Tom Hill in 1933. Mom and dad subsequently lived in Winnipeg and in Roland, MB. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Tom, in 1976, son William in 2001, son Robert in 2005 and daughter-in-law Edna in 2006. She is survived by her daughters Millie Bell (Hugh), Betty Barthelette (Adelard), and Barbara McCulloch, son Jack (Mary), daughter-in-law Doreen as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was a very strong-willed, private person who had a huge green thumb for her plants and a very soft spot in her heart for her family and for animals. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Memorial services will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 7 at 11: 00 a.m., 669 Broadway with interment at Brookside Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Pembina Manitou Health Centre Foundation, Box 129 Manitou, MB R0G 1G0. The family wishes to acknowledge and extend sincere appreciation to the staff of the Pembina Manitou Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care of mom and to the rest of the family.
