Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN ROBERT ENGLISH It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Al, beloved husband, father and grandfather on June 1, 2006 at Vancouver General Hospital. Al will be greatly missed by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Florence; daughters, Bev (Joel), Valerie, Karen (Cameron); grandson Thomas; his Aunt Doris and many dear relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Ann; brother Harold; and sisters, Joan and Grace. Al loved spending time with his family and friends, especially grandson Thomas. He was very active in sports throughout his life, both as a participant and spectator. As a senior, he enjoyed playing golf with his friends and walking every day. He had a passion for history and loved to talk about it with others. He was extremely friendly and interested in people. He travelled extensively with his family and especially enjoyed driving. He had a successful career at work. After a start at Midwest paper where he met Flo, he then started working on his CMA qualification. He moved on to CAE Industries working on the Mid-Canada line. Eventually, he achieved the position of Director of Personnel for the Pacific Region of Transport Canada. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at 2:30 p.m. at the Gilmore Park United Church, 8060 No. 1 Road in Richmond with a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Muscular Dystrophy Association would be greatly appreciated. RICHMOND FUNERAL HOME CREMATION RECEPTION CENTRE (604) 273-3748
