ETHEL ESTHER ELVINA CANADA It is with love and great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mom and grandma, Ethel on June 5, 2006 at the age of 80. Cherished memories of her will be kept by her children, Robert (Regan), Deborah (Marcel), Dale, Peggy (Ron); grandchildren, Andrea (David), Carla (Mike), Ashley, Aaron (Theresa), Kyle, Carrie and Madison; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Victoria, Anthony, Joshua, Serena, Braden and Nathan. She leaves two sisters, Margaret (Ray) and Lou (Frank). She is predeceased by our loving dad and grandpa, Earl. Our family honours the teachings they gave us in the way in which they lived their lives. Together they taught us by example the meaning of family, devotion to one another and the importance of working hard. Born in 1926, Ethel worked most of her life as a waitress and took great pride in her career. She married Earl in 1946 and moved from Saskatchewan to Winnipeg's north end with their young family in 1958 where they lived out the rest of their lives. Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Seven Oaks General Hospital, especially Dr. Martin, who provided mom with care and companionship in her final days. We offer a special thank you to Dr. Braun who provided mom with care for many years and whom she trusted and admired. A service in her honour will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Friday, June 9, at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Many years ago while your family was young, early 60's on Selkirk Avenue we were neighbours. Your parents were great role models, always kind to the kids. I thought alot of your mom Ash I could see that she was a good mother and loved you all, and feel bad about her passing. She was a very good woman and your dad a very fine man - a gentle man with a loving heart for his kids. I trust you are all well. I am living in the Vancouver Area - Coquitlam. Another family the Tessiers lived between us and you. Their mother Jean passed away recently, that too was a bitter pill to swallow. She was a good mom and fine lady. Time is rushing onward for all of us. I wish you guys the best. Dennis lives in Kamloops and Terry in Regina. - Posted by: Phyllis Devlin (Friend (childhood friend of Deborah, Peggy, Dale and Bob)) on: May 26, 2012
