MARIA AUGST After a brief illness, Maria Augst (nee Bantel) passed into the arms of her Lord, on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 with her family at her side, at Bethania Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband Gottlob Augst, July 7, 1984, as well as two brothers Wilhelm and Arnold Bantel in Germany. Left to mourn her passing, are her son Helmut (Pat), grandchildren, Christian and Paul; daughter Linda Donner (Meinhard), grandchildren, Inge Ratuski (Ed), Horst Donner (Liz), Peter Donner (Jackie), her great-grandchildren, Madeline and Thomas Ratuski, and Eric and Julia Donner. Also surviving in Germany are two sisters, Klara Heubach, Emelie Neudert (Felix), and many nieces and nephews. Mother was born August 4, 1912 in Gnadental, Besserabia, Romania. On September 12, 1935 she married Gottlob Augst. Mom and Dad emigrated to Canada from Germany in 1964. Mom was part of the family at Bethania Mennonite PCH, for six and a half years. We greatly appreciate their kindness, love and care. This wonderful woman gave herself to everything and everyone, her time, love and compassion, understanding and patience. She will be deeply missed, but what she left with each of us, will be cherished forever. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, at 1:00 pm at the Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery.
