NELLIE ONISKE (KAROL) May 28, 1919 - June 5, 2006 After a life filled with hard work, love and laughter, Nellie Oniske, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2006. Nellie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Steve Oniske; her daughter Linda Oniske; son-in-law Melvin Prosen; and her brothers and sisters. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Jean Prosen and son Stephen (Betsy) Oniske. Nellie was a loving Nana to her grandchildren, Leandrea (John), Jonathon (Leslie), Jennifer (Michael), Nadine (Fred), Steven (Leanne), Maryssa, Jackson and Jean. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Randall, Tanner, Keanu, Aliyah, Jaylene, Charlie, Mason and Steven. Nellie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren sharing her skill and talent of baking. She filled everyone's heart with love and tummy's with delicious goodies. Her favorite past times were gambling and cooking; if she wasn't doing one, she was doing the other. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 8 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Clement's Anglican Church, Selkirk with The Ven. Rev. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
