DONALD CAMPBELL ELLIOTT Donald Campbell Elliott of Denver, CO died on June 2, 2006 at his home, at 79 years of age, surrounded by his family. Donald was born in Napanee, ON, Canada on June 23, 1926. After completing studies at Western University in Ontario, he joined Great-West Life Assurance Company and remained there until he retired in 1981. Donald and his wife Nell returned to Denver in 1994, after his second retirement as President and C.E.O. of Empire Financial Group, based in Kingston, ON, Canada. He was vitally involved with Queen's University in Kingston, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for 12 years; the last five years as Chairman of the Board. In 2005, he was given The John Orr Award for his outstanding service and contribution to the University. He loved reading, music, equestrian sport and he was an aspiring golfer. Donald is survived by his loving and beloved wife of almost 40 years, Nell. He will be greatly missed always, by his much loved children with his late first wife Isobel: Mike (Jen) Elliott, Margaret Elliott (Barry McMillan), Cathy Elliott (Chris Bowes); and by his children with Nell: Jeanne Elliott and Robin Elliott. Donald had six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Eva Campbell, Reta Speer, Mary Murray, Alan (Sylvia) and David (Noreen). Donald will also be missed by many dear friends. A service to celebrate and give thanks for his life, will be held at St Aidan's Anglican Church, 274 Campbell St, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadians Helping Kids in Viet Nam, 802 Ellice Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0B9.
