Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD EDWARD DUKE November 18, 1921 - June 5, 2006 After a courageous battle with cancer, Lloyd passed away peacefully on Monday evening in Richmond, BC. The loving husband of Marjorie for 62 years and the father of Robert (Charlotte), Michael (Joanne), James (Sharon), Lloyd is survived by his wife, his brother Don, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lloyd volunteered for active service with the RAF and the RCAF in the Second World War serving first as an air gunner and later as a pilot, surviving more than 80 combat missions. Lloyd met and fell in love with Marjorie in 1942. With some persistence, he brought her back to Canada as one of the first war brides during hostilities in 1944. Following the war, Lloyd worked for Trans Canada Airlines and Pacific Western Airlines for more than 30 years. Lloyd is fondly remembered for his passion for the outdoors, sports, coaching, sailing and his devotion, dedication and storytelling to the grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life with a service and reception on Monday, June 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC.
