Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES ROSS DALLAS After a brief illness Ross passed away in the early morning of June 5, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. Ross was predeceased by his wife Lil; parents, James and Margaret Dallas; sister Eileen McArthur and her husband Kit. Left to mourn are nephew Malcolm McArthur of Winnipeg; niece Sheila Armer of Guelph and her children Andrew (Brandy) and Lindsay. Ross was born in Winnipeg in 1923 and spent his entire life in St. Vital with the exception of his service in the Royal Canadian Navy during the war. Ross was employed by the CNR at the Transcona Shops until his retirement. As a youngster Ross loved going to his grandparents' farm in Edam, SK. He also loved golfing and his many years a the St. Vital Curling Club. Ross was a 61 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion St. Vital Branch No. 16 as well as a member of Capitol Lodge No. 136 G.R.M., A.F. A.M. Over the years Ross and Lil enjoyed many trips to Britain, Europe, Florida and Hawaii. Special thanks to the St. Boniface Hospital Emergency staff for their efforts and kindness. Cremation has taken place and at Ross's request there will be no formal service. We will miss Ross's smile and gentle cheerful nature. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ross's memory to the charity of one's choice
