MARIA SENENKO Peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, Maria Senenko, aged 84 years, passed away at Ste. Anne Hospital, late of Prawda. Maria was born on February 14, 1922 in the village of Staryava, in the province of Lviv, Ukraine. On June 13, 1946 she married John Senenko in Germany. The couple moved to Belgium and in 1949 their son, Jaroslaw was born. In 1951 they left Belgium and came to Canada. They settled in the Prawda area where they began farming. Two more children were born, John in 1955 and Kathy in 1960. Maria was predeceased by her husband John in 1992. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John (Linda), John (Colleen) and daughter Kathy (Ken). Missing her greatly are grandchildren, Jennifer, Trevor, Kevin, Angela, Kaylee, Kristin and great-grandson Aaron. Prayers will be held on Sunday, June 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Knysh Funeral Home, 1020 Main St. in Winnipeg. Divine Liturgy will take place on Monday, June 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hadashville Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Prawda Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh, John, Trevor, Kevin, Aaron Senenko and Ken Kozera. We would like to thank Dr. Gobeil and staff of St. Anne Hospital for the excellent care Maria received there and also the home care workers that looked after her for the last few years.
