JERRY HART Jerry Hart peacefully passed away on June 6, 2006. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his family. He was a devoted and affectionate husband to his wife Ada; kind and generous dad to Cheryl, Sandy and Fred (Giles), and Barry and Eve; and sweet grandpa and papa to Warren, Tara and Kira (Giles), Shauna Wyatt, and Jeremy, Nathan and Noah. Jerry will be fondly remembered at Wednesday morning family coffee by Flo, Tom and Virginia, Charlie and Lorraine, Annie and Gaston, Lawrence, and Betty and Bill, also by sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Ron, and, his many nieces and nephews and their families. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Carl and Anna Hart, brother Milton and sister-in-law Ann. Before he contracted arthritis, Jerry was very active in sports. He played baseball, curling and golf, and coached baseball and hockey. He led Barry's young hockey team and a Fellowship Hockey team to championships. Grandpa and grandma were their grandkids' best sports fans, often driving them to practices and rarely missing a game. Jerry was always ready for a laugh and was kind and generous to everyone. Family was his first priority and we will have the fondest memories of traveling with the tent trailer, visits at St. Malo and at the Christmas crokinole tournament at Lundar. Jerry maintained a lifelong commitment to the Baptist Church. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, Church Treasurer, counselor with Young People's groups, and Treasurer of the Baptist Care Society of Meadowood Manor. Jerry worked at Massey Harris, at Hart Realty with his dad and brother Lawrence, and for many years at Canada Permanent (later TD Canada Trust), although his kids' favourite job was his short stint at Nutty Club (lots of candy). The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. D. Modry and the Intensive Care Unit staff at University Hospital in Edmonton for their skilled and compassionate care of Jerry. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 201 Scurfield Blvd. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society, Manitoba Division Office, #105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 3R6; the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3L 0K6, or the Meadowood Manor Building Fund, 577 St. Anne's Rd, Winnipeg, R2M 3G5.
