ROY (CLIFF) CRAMPTON

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY (CLIFF) CRAMPTON It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Roy Clifton (Cliff) Crampton in his 89th year, on June 9, 2006 at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, MB. Father was born on August 19, 1916 and raised in Smiths Falls, ON to William Henry and Violet (nee Swan) Crampton. He joined the RCAF in June of 1937 and served until August 19, 1965 attaining the rank of Squadron Leader. During his 28 years in the RCAF father specialized in aircraft engineering and served at many bases including; Camp Borden, Rockcliffe (Ottawa), Gander, Debert, Eastern Air Command HQ, Mount Hope (Hamilton), Aylmer, Trenton, Luffingham (England), Marville (France), Gimli , and Winnipeg. Upon retiring from the RCAF, in Winnipeg, Dad worked in many capacities but notably with Transair (to project lead the introduction of the Boeing 737) and White Truck. Father was a 55 year member of the Masonic Lodge of St. Mark #38, Halifax, NS. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Earl, sister Marjorie (McConnell) and son William Bryan (2002). Father will be dearly missed by his wife, of 64 years, Ila, son Bruce and wife Lee, daughter-in-law Carol, grandchildren Michael, Jason, Lindsey, Steven, and Kristi. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Canadian Forces Chapel (Chapel of the Good Shepherd) on Whytewold Ave. at Silver. Internment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery Smiths Falls, ON. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. The family wish to extend special thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre (Tower 5 Unit) who provided care and kindness to both father and family.
