BRUCE ALEXANDER DICKIE On Sunday, June 11, 2006 with his family by his side, Bruce Dickie passed away, after a long illness with COPD. Bruce was born in 1936 and grew up in St. Vital. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Michele; daughters, Shawn Marie (Larry), Christine (Steve), Aileen (Lindsay); his children, from his previous marriage, Stuart, Keith, Catherine and Marnie (Richard). Bruce's greatest sources of joy were his grandchildren, Brad, Jordan, Nolan, Emily, Keenan, Tristan and Jacob. No matter how Papa was feeling he always loved having his grandchildren around and hearing how they were doing. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. Bruce was an extremely hard worker and put such care and thoughtful precision into everything he did. He loved machinery and working on cars. Bruce took on the love of making wine from his father, and he did that for many years until his illness took that away from him. Bruce loved to fish. His favourite spots were Bird Lake and Wallace Lake. The family spent many, many summers camping and fishing. He taught his three daughters how to fish and clean them; they have wonderful memories of that. Bruce also loved Scotch Whiskey and had an impressive collection. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, especially Bunny, Richard and Joe. We appreciated their excellent nursing skills and Bunny's wonderful sense of humor and the phenomenal care of her patients and their family. A service to celebrate and give thanks for Bruce's life will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bruce's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association.
