DIANA HAZEL FREEBORN (nee RODEN) With sadness and loving memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Diana Hazel Freeborn (nee Roden) of Carberry at Hillcrest Personal Care Home, Brandon on Friday, June 9, 2006. Diana was born to Jessie and George Roden on the family farm in the Arizona district on May 20, 1913. She married Clare Freeborn on October 1, 1936. They farmed in the Firdale district until 1946 when they purchased the general store and post office at Harte. Diana leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, her husband of 69 years, Clare; daughters, Ramona (Cec) Sparrow and Beverley (George) Ranson. She was a very special grandmother to Gerald (Karen) Sparrow, Trinda (Darren) Sparrow, Kent and Keri Ranson. She also was adored by her eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Falynn, Morgan, Jarrett, Brooklyn, Bryce, Ben and Will; and two great-great-grandchildren, Randi and Lexie. She is survived by her sister Blanche Currie and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Hunter and Nettie Wickware and an infant brother. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Diana to a charity of choice.
