SAM SUEY YUEN It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather on June 11, 2006, at Victoria General Hospital. He was 73 years old. Suey is survived by his wife Lily; children Stanley, Walter, Frances (Randy Walker), Shirley, David; granddaughters Marie, Stephanie; mother-in-law Yuk Lui; niece Ling (Pok Lan Lai) and nephew Tam Kung. He was predeceased by his father Tom, brothers Gook Chow, Hap Chow and uncle Wang Yin. Suey was born in Toi Shan, China in 1933. He immigrated to Canada in 1951, to Lyleton, MB. In 1959, he owned and operated The Rio Cafe restaurant in Souris, MB. Suey married Lily in 1964 and together, they worked at the restaurant and raised five children. He is remembered for his hard work cooking fine cuisine for his patrons. After over 40 years of business, Suey sold the restaurant in 2003, and spent his retirement years enjoying swimming, walking and exercising. The family wishes to send sincere thanks to our neighbours, friends, the emergency crew of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, and the doctors and nurses at Victoria General Hospital for their efforts and kindness. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suey's memory to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
