EILEEN PEARL ALLAN (nee DUCKLOW) December 15, 1922 - June 14, 2006 On June 14, 2006, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer, Eileen Allan was taken from us. She will be deeply missed by her children, Glenda (Giuseppi) Caligiuri and Kevin (Laura) Allan; her grandchildren, Bradley, Anne, Eric and Claire; her great-grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Harvie; her best friend Gladys Campbell and her many other friends and relatives. Eileen was predeceased by the love of her life, Murray, in 1980 and more recently by her parents, Wes and Bella Ducklow and her sister Isabell Meffen. She was a kind and gentle woman who always made her children feel like the most precious things in the world, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were fortunate enough to experience that unconditional love she had for us all. Eileen's door was always open to friends and family whether it was for coffee and cards or for an extended stay for medical treatments. Her sense of humor and ability to make conversation made strangers feel like her long lost friend in no time at all. It was one of Eileen's talents to present a table full of food for any visitors whether expected or unexpected. She never had an unkind word for another person and she valued that trait in others as well. A hole has been left in our hearts and our lives that only time and our cherished memories of Eileen can fill. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 19 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca. Remembrances may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 in Eileen's memory. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
