ROSE MARIE DEOBALD (HUBER) -
Date of Passing: Jun 16, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE MARIE DEOBALD (HUBER) 1920 - 2006 With great sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing, at 86 years, of our beloved and very special mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Grandma Rose to many friends and relatives, on June 16, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Rose was predeceased by husband and partner Phillip in 1996; parents Christian and Sophia, and 12 older brothers and sisters. She will always be cherished and held in the hearts of daughters Cathy (Bob) Kaptian and Pat (Mike) Ingratta; grandchildren Jeff (Emily), Bobbi-Lynn (Dave), Tom (Diane), Michelle (Alan), David (Jillian), Chris (Ashlyn), and great-grandchildren Dawson, Payton, Ally Rose, Brendan, Laine and Cade; and a large extended family. Rose's unconditional love of family knew no bounds, and we all flourished under her guidance and care. Mom was a woman of intellect and one ahead of her time. Although she gave up her dream of nursing to return to help on the farm until her marriage during The Second World War, her talents, honed through self-education and compassion, made a difference in many walks of life. She was a fountain of knowledge on any topic, astute politically, an avid reader and bridge player, an excellent cook and baker, a gardener, and could build or fix anything. A brilliant seamstress, she sewed intricate wedding gowns and fur coats professionally, and her needlework and crocheting won top Canadian awards. We offer special thanks to her friends, residents and staff at Amber Meadow for making the last two years so wonderful for her. A family service and interment will be held at the Huber homestead on land donated by her parents for the St. John Lutheran Church and cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation MB online at ww2.heartandstroke.ca or by calling (204) 949-2000. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
