JEAN ISABELLE MURRAY (nee PEDEN) Peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2006, Jean Isabelle Murray (nee Peden) passed away in her home in St. Norbert at the age of 84 years. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Murray, her sister Alice Purvis, and parents William and Elsie Peden. She is survived by her sons Terry (Anita) of Chemainus, BC, James of Winnipeg and John of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Robert, Lee-Anna, Kate and Sean; three brothers Murray (Jean), William and Allan (Irene) Peden, all from Winnipeg, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was born in Portage la Prairie, MB on July 1, 1921. She received her education at Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg schools, taking her business training at Angus Business College, Winnipeg. Jean was employed at Sovereign Life Assurance Company and later at the Medical Business Bureau, Winnipeg. Jean met Robert Murray in Portage la Prairie and they were married July 7, 1945, upon his return from overseas. Jean loved music and was a member of the M.G.E.A. Glee Club and the Crescent Ft. Rouge United Church choir. Funeral Service will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, MB on Friday, June 23 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Marg Scott officiating. Interment is to follow at Hillside Cemetery. At Jean's request, flowers are gratefully declined. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Jean 's memory to a charity of one's choice.
