VICTORIA ZABIAKA It is with great sadness that we announce that on June 16, 2006 in Winnipeg, Victoria Zabiaka completed her journey on this earth. Victoria leaves to mourn her daughter Florence (Serge Scrafield), her son Kenneth (Sharon), her daughter Kathleen (Frank Hrechka), daughter Donna Vincent (Ed Belanger), son-in-law Stan Kalupar, grandchildren Michael, Kristoffer, Malissa and Stefan, and great grandchildren Kyla and Quentin. Victoria was predeceased by her loving husband William on February 21, 1976, and by her daughters Shirley Kalupar on January 8, 2003 and Dianna on May 3, 1960. Victoria was born near Garland, MB on March 30, 1930 and grew up on the family farm with her 11 siblings and parents Varvara (née Wasyluik) and John Tymchuk. Vicky married Bill Zabiaka on August 9, 1947. Over the following thirty years they raised their five children in Dauphin, MB. She became known for her sewing capabilities. After William passed away, she assumed various roles at Chez Cloth and Stylerite in Dauphin. In the early eighties, Vicky moved to Winnipeg, to be closer to her 4 daughters and grandchildren. She continued to build her sewing expertise. She worked at Sew Feminine, Eatons, and Janome Sewing Centre before retiring in 1997. Vicky's greatest passion was following the teachings of the Ukrainian Catholic church. Her unwavering faith carried her through her final months with peace and tranquility. Vicky remains an inspiration to us all. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Church. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Dauphin, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. Vichnaya Pam'yat CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
