Date of Passing: Jun 19, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(EDNA) RUTH GELLATLY It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, sister, auntie and friend on Monday, June 19, 2006 at her residence in Starbuck, MB. Ruth was born on April 20, 1942 to Clayton and Edna Tolton. Ruth was predeceased by husband Allen (1994); parents, Clayton and Edna; brothers, Wes and Ken; and sister Barb. She is loving remembered by her son Kerry, daughter Kim and niece Shanteal, whom also resided with her, sister Marianne (Del); sister-in-law Helen (Barry); many nieces and nephews, Shelley, Bob, Shaun, Lori, Ron, Michelle, Leah, Darlene and Jenifer. Ruth was always there to lend a helping hand and played a big part in both Shanteal and Jenifer's lives. Ruth's personality led to many close friendships with all who knew her or came into contact with her. She was a very devoted mother and was always very caring and compassionate to all she knew and loved. She was very active in her community work and was always busy volunteering for something, 4-H, Dinner Theatre, etc. Her love for family and friends was always apparent in everything she did. Ruth will always be remembered by her numerous friends especially Joan and Len who were not only good neighbours but great friends! Ruth could always be found in the mornings heading to the Hen House in Starbuck for coffee and good times or maybe just to have a visit with Maggie and Jack. She could also be found taking a short drive over to Homewood Colony for Coffee and visiting with great friends. Ruth also looked forward to her 4-H kids coming off the bus once or twice a week. Ruth had joined the Red Hatter's Group where she had many friends and many great times. She was a very special lady who always looked after other's needs before her own. She was loved by all that knew her. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to a dear friend Marlene who could always be found driving Ruth and helping in any way she could. Also special thanks to the first responders and the local R.C.M.P. for their care and compassion and quick response in our mother's death. Viewing will take place Thursday, June 22 at Thomson's Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23 at Starbuck Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Cathy Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Starbuck Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway - 783-7211
