WALTER (WALLY) DUDAR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, brother and uncle, Walter (Wally) Dudar, on June 18, 2006, at the Victoria General Hospital. Wally was predeceased by his mother, father and brother Joe. Left to mourn are his wife Jean, with whom he recently celebrated 55 years of marriage; his son Michael and wife Joanne Peters; his daughter Janice and husband Allan Koverzin, and his beloved grandchildren, Kim and Mark. Wally will also be remembered with love by his brother Nestor and wife Florence; his sisters-in-law, Freda Dudar, Anne Gurski, Mary Schepaniuk and Alice Wichart, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. Walter was born in April of 1926 and grew up in North Winnipeg. He attended King Edward and Isaac Newton Schools, leaving school at the age of 16, when he began work with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He worked for CPR for 45 years, retiring as an engineman in 1986. In his retirement, Wally thoroughly enjoyed newly-found leisure time. With fellow CP retirees, he enjoyed endless cups of coffee and reminiscences. Wally and Jean travelled and toured throughout Canada and the United States, and in 1981, they spent the first of many summers at their Jessica Lake cottage. For Wally, a perfect summer's day was spent on the dock, cup of coffee in hand, reading the newspaper and watching the kids swim, splash and ski in the lake. Sports were always an interest: he enjoyed the fellowship and friendly competition of the St. John's Lawn Bowling Association, attending Jets and Manitoba Moose hockey games with Michael, and watching both Kim and Mark participate in volleyball, basketball and soccer games and tournaments. His warmth and friendliness to all will be remembered by family and friends, who will miss him terribly. The family would like to express its thanks to the medical staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their dedicated, professional and compassionate care. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, with a Redemptorist Father officiating. A reception will follow his interment. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Wally's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111
