LORNA KING (SIGFUSSON) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Lorna King (Sigfusson). Lorna passed away at home on June 14, 2006 at the age of 51 years. Lorna was born and raised in Winnipeg and moved to Gimli as a young woman. As an adult Lorna lived in St. Andrews, Lockport and Selkirk, ultimately returning home to Winnipeg. Lorna spent many years working as a Health Care Aide and found this work very rewarding. She particularly enjoyed working with elderly patients and was much loved by those she cared for. Lorna was always known as someone with a huge heart and a particular soft spot for animals. She cherished her cat Kira and spent many years breeding Golden Retrievers at the family home in St. Andrews. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Tannis (Geoff), son Damon (Jen) and brother Albert (Jean). She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Anna and Skuli Sigfusson of Gimli. Lorna will also be missed by a large circle of family and friends, in particular her lifelong Best friend Theresa Remple. Mom, We love you and will miss you always Mom, but take comfort in knowing Amma and Afi Were waiting with open arms to take you home. God saw that you had suffered enough so He opened his arms and took you up. A memorial service will be held in honour of Lorna on Friday, June, 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West, Winnipeg to be followed by a private family service at the Gimli Community Cemetery.
