ELLEN PEARL TAYLOR (nee STRONG) June 2, 1921 - June 19, 2006 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law and friend on Monday, June 19, 2006 at Grace General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Hope; her parents, George and Charlotte Strong; brothers John, Ernest, and Everett. She will be lovingly remembered by her family; daughter Shirley (Kurt); sons Howard (Bernice), Roy (Jan); grandchildren, Katherine (Scott), Darrell (Pamela), Kristina (Michael), Sheri, Clayton, Michael and Lorne; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jacob, Kaydan, Mikeal and Thyme; her sister Kathleen (Albert); brother Earl (Erla); sister-in-law Dorothy; dear friends Ina and Brenda and many nieces, nephews and church friends. Mom was born in Boissevain, MB. She met and married Hope in September 1943. They lived in Brandon until they moved to Winnipeg in 1949. She worked for Parkview Drugs and then Westwood Drugs for many years. She loved to garden, knit and make quilts. We all have mementos of her handiwork. Mom accepted Jesus as her saviour late in life and we all take comfort in knowing she is with our Lord. The family would like to thank all doctors, nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital on 3 north and the 5th floor for their care and compassion. We also extend our thanks to the home care workers as your kindness to mom was greatly appreciated. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with viewing one-half hour prior to the service. Interment and reception will follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 205 Roseberry St., Winnipeg, R3J 1T3 or CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca. We are all God's children from the morning hour of birth. He lets us live and laugh and love and have our time on earth. He guards us through the afternoon till sunset rays are cast. Then one by one with gentle words, He calls us home at last. We love you, Mom! CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
