Date of Passing: Jun 11, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(GEORGE THOMAS) TOM MONTGOMERY 1947 - 2006 On Monday, June 19, 2006 after a brief illness, cradled in the loving arms of his family, Tom made his final life journey. He leaves behind after 33 years of marriage, the love of his life, his wife Mary Lynne. Tom loved and was so very proud of his children, and he let them know often; his daughter Darcy and son-in-law Darren, his grandchildren Katelyn and Keenan who Papa absolutely adored; his son Kelly and daughter-in-law Angie and their child who has not yet arrived, but who Tom already loved and eagerly awaited to hold in his arms. Tom is also survived by his confidant, a huge part of his life, his Uncle Tom (BOB); his Aunt Mary; his brother Jim (Cecile) and family, and his sister Ann (Marcel). Tom was predeceased by his father Jim, his mother Clarice and his father-in-law Clifford Parkes. Tom had a very special bond with Mary Lynne's family, who loved him so very much - his beloved mother-in-law Iris, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ron and Connie; Wes and Pat; Bill, Susie, godchildren Jackie and Cliff; Brian, Bonnie, Chris and Heather; Barry (Artie); and his special sister-in-law and close friend Sandra, Darrell, Kyle and Nicole. Tom possessed a sweet, kind and gentle spirit that endeared him to all. He had a quick wit, a hearty laugh and a broad smile that could light up a room. Tom was employed for 33 years at E.H. Price Limited, where he was well liked and well respected by his co-workers. Tom was so proud to be a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge No. 111 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, having served as Worshipful Master in 1995. He so enjoyed the Craft, and especially the fellowship of his Brothers at Lodge. Tom was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Prince Edward Branch No. 81 for the past 34 years. Tom was an exceptional husband and father, and he was so proud of and grateful for all that he accomplished. His family was of the utmost importance, and they enjoyed so many special times together. Tom and Mary Lynne loved spending time with their children and grandchildren - travelling; family gatherings; and the great times at their trailer at Wildwood Park in Winnipeg Beach - gathered around the bonfire with family and friends. Tom was thrilled with the fact that the kids and their friends liked to hang out with Dad and Mum. Most recently, Tom especially enjoyed a good game of dominoes with his best buds, Dennis and Bev. He will be missed so very much by all whose lives he touched. According to Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Friday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Masonic service - full regalia. Flowers gratefully declined, donations on Tom's behalf to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE 501, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. Happy to meet, Sorry to part, Happy to meet again. Arrangements in care of: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson North of McIvor - 338-0331
