IRENE BEARD Peacefully on June 20, 2006 Irene passed away with family at her side following a brief illness. Irene was born in Atherstone, England and came to Canada with her husband and daughters in 1957. Family was the focus of her life-nurturing and caring for all, as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, also as a teacher and volunteer at the Victoria General Hospital for 33 years. She enjoyed knitting, a good book and world travels by coach and ship. Left to cherish memories are the lights of her life Keith, husband of 58 years; daughters, Judith Elizabeth (Don), Barbara (Jim); grandchildren, Treena (Shaun), Marc (Marcia) and Dean; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Braeden. She will be greatly missed by family and friends in England and Canada. If they so wish in lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in Irene's memory to the Victoria Hospital Foundation. The family would like to thank those special angels at the Victoria General Hospital, Home Care and Riverview Health Centre for the compassion they showed Mum, and Mum's many friends for their support. A service to celebrate Mum's life will be held Saturday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 830 Point Rd., Fort Garry.
