KELLY KEITH (KELLY ANN GRAY) -
Date of Passing: Jun 19, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKELLY KEITH (nee KELLY ANN GRAY) 1958 - 2006 After a six year struggle with the effects of MELAS, Kelly peacefully passed away Monday, June 19, 2006 with caring staff at Calvary Place by her side. Kelly is survived by her son Shane St. Germain. Shane was the light of her life. She is also survived by her brother Paul Sullivan, sister Pam Brown and Pam's children Andy and Sarah. Kelly was predeceased by her still-born daughter, her mother Sally Ann Gray and brother Keith Gray. Throughout her life Kelly was always up for an adventure. Hitch-hiking to Toronto in her teens with no money to see The Bay City Rollers was thankfully her most outrageous endeavour. After attending Grant Park High School, Kelly travelled more conventionally to Scotland for six weeks, and later twice to Germany, once for over a year. Her favourite trip was when she flew with Shane to British Columbia to visit his father's relatives. She was very touched by the kindness and generosity shown to her and Shane during their memorable vacation. While Kelly was able, she enjoyed many outings with Shane, but mainly going to St. Vital for shopping, tacos and a movie. Her favourite times with Shane were when he would read to her. Kelly didn't care what he read, she was content just spending time with her son. She loved Shane unconditionally and vowed that she would watch over him after she passed away. Anyone who knew Kelly knows that she enjoyed her many years as hostess at Grant Park Pizza Place more than any other job she had. Kelly felt that the staff were her surrogate family and she had great affection for many people there, especially Barb, Dave and Trish. After Kelly was unable to work she continued to pop in whenever she got a chance for a Seafood Fett ... and of course a large Coke... no ice. After Kelly stopped working, she enjoyed many shopping trips to the Dollar Store to buy knick knacks and add to her wolf collection. She also had fun with her friend Linda driving around, having breakfast at Sal's, listening to music and laughing harder than anyone else. A big outing for Kelly over the last few years was going to many concerts put on by The Rainbow Harmony Project. She especially enjoyed the food at the receptions afterwards. Kelly loved bragging about her long legs which must have been hollow. Always a big eater, it was shocking to see how much she could fit into her tiny frame. Following cremation, a memorial service will b e held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd., in the East Sanctuary. There will be a gathering of friends and family at the church, immediately following the service. Thanks so much to the nursing and support staff on the fifth floor at the Rehabilitation Hospital at HSC for the caring attention given to Kelly. Thanks also to the very caring and compassionate staff at Calvary Place. Kelly could not have been in a more perfect place for her last weeks. May God bless you all. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Kelly may be made to The Rainbow Harmony Project, PO Box 23004, RPO McGillivray, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5S3.
