HENRY LEPP Henry Lepp, aged 78, of Brandon, formerly of Rivers, passed away at the Assiniboine Centre, June 15, 2006. He was born May 1, 1928, in the Rural Municipality of Blanshard, the youngest son of seven children to Heinrich P. and Agatha Lepp. Growing up on the farm he was an avid outdoorsman, he had a trap line with his brother Jack, snaring all types of wildlife. He spent many hours playing hockey on the outdoor rinks and drove his first tractor at age 11. Henry received his education in Rivers and at the Mennonite Collegiate Institute. While in grade school he was enlisted in the cadets. He continued on to attend the University of Manitoba, earning a Diploma in Agriculture. He met his future wife Erica Penner, on a blind date. He and his family served as volunteers at mission schools in Belize and Ecuador on numerous occasions. After retiring to Brandon in 1993, Henry continued his involvement in church activities. He served several years on the Farm Debt Review Board and was a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross for 15 years. Henry had a calm assurance of his faith throughout his life.
