Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY BARASCHUK On Friday, June 23, 2006, a very loving, kind and generous man passed away peacefully at the Fred Douglas Lodge, where he resided for the past 13 years. Stanley is survived by his brother Adolph (Agnes) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Petronilla; sisters, Lena (Shepell), Julia (Kurdziel), Ann (Alexandruk); and brothers, Peter and John. Stanley was born April 17, 1915 in Marble Ridge, MB and farmed until 1958, then moved to Winnipeg, where he was employed by the City of Winnipeg until his retirement. His evenings were spent dancing and visiting with family. He was always included in all family gatherings. When his health began to fail he moved to the Fred Douglas Lodge. He enjoyed his numerous visits from his nieces and nephews as well as his brother Adolph who continued to take him dancing to his favourite Legion No. 141 on Selkirk Avenue. He enjoyed numerous activities over the years, playing cards, baseball, dancing, shuffleboard and pool. A very special thanks to the staff at the Fred Douglas Lodge for their care and kindness. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so wish, donations may be made in Stan's memory to a charity of their choice.
