Her Dad worked for the railway and she lived in various small towns in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. When she moved to Winnipeg she graduated from the St. Boniface Sanatorium School of Nursing in 1940. While nursing she met her dream man Johnnie and they married in 1941. A big part of Mom and Dad's life was Canadian Legions #16 and #1. After Dad's passing in 1971 Mom went to work at the Post Office where she loved working and made a lot of good friends. Mom was a fun-loving person who loved her family, enjoyed bowling, gardening, baking, her Blue Jays and Bombers and she had a passion for playing cards, especially with the Rummy gang, the Thursday Red River Seniors and cards and bingo with the Pulberry Gang. Grandma loved to go and watch the activities of all her grandchildren. Mom joined A.A. in July 1978 and remained a successful graduate. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humour, her love of life, nature, animals, game shows and her passion for sports. The family would like to thank Mom's Home Care helpers especially Brenda. We appreciate the special care you gave our Mom. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to The Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or Alcoholics Anonymous, 208-323 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2C1. Mom's funeral service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 847 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg on June 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will be held. Mom talked to her BC boy Tom every morning and those calls will be missed. God gave us a mother, And he tried to be fair, And when He gave us ours, We got more than our share. Although He took you back from us today, We are so grateful for the years He let you stay. Your presence we'll miss, Your memory we treasure; Loving you always, forgetting you never.

Sincere condolences to the whole family with special thoughts for Karen. I started at C.P.in 1981 and Marion took me under her wing, she shared a lot of her knowledge with me. Marion was so kind and patient. She was an excellent co-worker, with a great sense of humour. My years spent on the FTY sub were great ones and Marion made them so. Your mother was a awesome person to work with. I feel blessed to have worked with her and known her. May your memories of her be a source of comfort for all of you. - Posted by: Leonne Lafond (Co-Worker) on: Jun 28, 2006
