LORNA J. NOWATZKI (TAILLON) 1925-2006 It is with love and great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandma and great-grandma. Lorna was born in Neche, North Dakota on January 29, 1925, grew up and was educated in Cavalier, North Dakota. Lorna and her high school sweetheart Harold were married in 1946. They were blessed with 5 children. In October of 1955, Lorna and Harold and family immigrated to Canada and made Winnipeg their home. Lorna was predeceased by her parents, sister Gail and her beloved husband Harold in 1999. Left to cherish her memory are her children Cheryl (Bert) Lussier; Floyd (Royce); Jeff (Margaret Anne); Lynn Maguire; and Jay (Jocelyn). Grandchildren Lara (Mike); Nancy (Ash); Leanne (Chris); Joel (Leah); Nadine (Brian); Janet; Karen; Heather (Brock); Jeffrey Jr.; Laura (Huland); Sara; Robin (Bill); Colleen (Joshua); and Jay Jr. Great-grandchildren Myles, Mackenzie; Heather, Conner; Owen, Jackie, Caleb, Griffin. Mom's unconditional love of family was deeply rooted in her Roman Catholic faith. Her greatest love was being there for her family. A caring, compassionate listener who will be greatly missed by those who loved her most. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Parish Church in Cavalier, North Dakota with Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Thank you to all the staff at the Victoria hospital and to her many friends at the Rotary Villa Manor for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Lorna J. Nowatzki.
