LOUIS J. MAGER Peacefully, on June 25, 2006 at the Victoria Hospital, Louis Mager, aged 98 years, entered eternal life. Born on April 1, 1908 at 715 St. Anne's Rd. in St. Vital, MB. Louis' destiny was sealed when he met Etiennette Ritchot in 1936 to form a dynamic partnership. They established their residence at 701 St. Anne's Rd. from 1936-1990. They moved to Branbtwood Estates at 697 St. Anne's Rd. and resided there till his passing. Louis lived his entire life just a short distance from where he was born. A person of integrity and faith, Louis' life focused primarily on family, church, and the community. Louis worked diligently as a poultry farmer and market gardener from 1936-1970. He was Secretary Treasurer of the Lavalee School District from 1945-1960. He was a founding member of St. Emile Church and Church Council president. Louis served on the board of the Louis Riel Chalet acting either as vice president or president for over 20 years during which time he was in charge of rent collection. Louis was predeceased by his loving wife Etiennette in 1991. Louis was the last to survive his brothers, Felix, Emile, Camille infant brother Maurice, Wilfred, Paul, Edward, Victor, Joe and sisters Ernestine and Juliette. Louis will be deeply missed by his 4 children, Leo (Claire), Mary-Lou (Ben), Phillip (Linda) and Michelle, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, his sisters-in-law, Cecile, Angie, Georgina, Georgette, Augustine, Therese (Ron), Beatrice and brother-in-law Philias (Betty). The family would like to thank the excellent staff at the Victoria Hospital. If friends so desire donations in Louis' memory may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, # 6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3l 0K6 A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29, at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Timothy's Parish Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd, with viewing one-half hour prior to service.
