CAROL ELIZABETH KLAGENBERG (nee MCRAE) It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Carol Elizabeth Klagenberg (nee McRae) on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Selkirk and District Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark Klagenberg, Kim (Brad) Hewlett, and Kirk Klagenberg; her grandchildren, Russell, Matthew, and Parker Hewlett, Rask and Emily Klagenberg; as well as her sisters Sheila Cottingham and Linda (John) Craig; sister-in-law Maxine McRae and numerous other family members. Carol was born in Selkirk on December 27, 1940 and lived most of her life in the St. Andrews area. She worked as an elementary teacher at Happy Thought School, was a rural municipality councillor, and a business partner for many years in Klagenberg Farms Ltd. (designated as an award winning farm). She loved spending time at her cottage at the lake, living the farm lifestyle, watching her grandchildren grow and play, painting landscapes, writing children's stories and taking part in any new adventure. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Selkirk United Church, 202 McLean St., Selkirk, MB. In lieu of flowers, if desired, friends may make donations to the Selkirk Palliative Care Unit at the Selkirk and District General Hospital. Special thank you to Dr. Fuchs, Dr. Demsas, Theresa Hnatiuk, Karen Erickson, Joe Amadeo, the chemotherapy nurses, the Medicine Ward nursing staff, palliative care staff and Diane Stoller for their compassion and care.
