SAM GILCHRIST Sam Gilchrist, aged 65 years of Emerson, MB, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 25, 2006. Sam leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 44 years, Judy; his son John (Angela) Gilchrist; daughters, Sharon Zinn, Laura Gilchrist and her fiancé Brian Bonnie; special granddaughter Heather; sister Darlene (Paul) Fillion; brothers, Bert and Vern Gilchrist; sister-in-law Vangie Gilchrist, also a host of relatives and friends. Sam was predeceased by his daughter Heather; his parents John and Annie Gilchrist; his brother Marvin Gilchrist and sister-in-law Valerie Gilchrist. Sam loved his children and loved spending time with them. Sam worked for Manitoba Highways Department for more than 30 years. Sam and Judy were successful in business, owning and operating the Maple Leaf Motel and several restaurants in Emerson, MB for more than 30 years. The funeral service for Sam Gilchrist will be Wednesday, June 28 from the St. Andrew's United Church in Emerson, MB at 2:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will follow in the Emerson Cemetery.
