GEORGE ALEXANDER LONG It is with sincere regret that the family announces the passing of George Alexander Long in Kelowna, BC on June 28, 2006 at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife and soulmate Violet; and loving family, sons, Norman (Dorothy) of Winnipeg, Garry (Marlene) and daughter Sharon (Jack) Montpetit, all of Kelowna, grandchildren, Heather, Garry, Jason (Jennifer) and Justin Long, Jason (Leanne) Montpetit and Andrea (Francesco) De Caria, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Lorne (Florrie) of Thunder Bay and sister Norma Nesbitt of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Francis Perry and brothers, Carl and Don. George and Violet lived in Fort William, ON until 1950 when George transferred to Winnipeg with the Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1996 they moved to Courtenay, BC and later settled in Kelowna in 2000. A family memorial service in Kelowna is pending.
