SERGE PETRUS March 6, 1934 June 29, 2006 Serge Petrus, aged 72 years, passed away suddenly at his home in St. Georges, MB, with his wife Lucy, of 50 years, at his side. He is survived by his wife Lucy; daughters Kathy (Leslie), Elaine (Merv), and Jacquie; grandchildren Stephen, Alana, and Julia; twin sister Helen Nemshon; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother John and his parents Jacob and Anastasia. Serge was born in Poland and came to Canada as a young child with his family, settling in Shorncliffe, MB to farm. Always mechanically inclined, Serge pursued a career as a welder and heavy equipment mechanic, working for Abitibi Price in Pine Falls, MB and operating his own garage in St. Georges for over thirty years. Serge loved life, spending his spare time camping in his motorhome, in his garage with buddies and never missing an opportunity to celebrate with his family and friends. He possessed a generous spirit and an honest heart. The family would like to thank family and friends for their kindness and support. A funeral service will be held for Serge on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Georges Roman Catholic Church in St. Georges, MB.
